Sunshine in My Soul

Spring brings us signs of new beginnings, new hope. This Spring of 2020 has certainly been a time for renewing our faith, hope, and love in God. There have been many challenges that no one ever expected. Quarantine, isolation, social distancing, schools closed for the rest of the school year, high school seniors with no prom, senior trip or graduation, and long extended time with family. Amazing kindness has been shown in extremely large and small ways.Through all of this, prayers have been sent throughout the world to ask God for peace, hope, and love. Faith has been the victor which has held the world together.

As I awake each morning, I am thankful for the beautiful sunshine of spring. The birds also awaken early to sing, new spring flowers bring beauty to the earth, and brilliant blue skies bring only distant memories of a long winter. Neighbors are working in their yards. People are walking and  bicycling in the sun. All of this with respectful social distancing.
Genesis 1:16  states; And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night.
A favorite gospel hymn is:
Sunshine in My Soul
1)There is sunshine in my soul today, More glorious and bright,
Than glows in any earthly sky, For Jesus is the light.
Chorus:
O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine, When the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face, There is sunshine in my soul.
2)There is music in my soul today, A carol to my King;
And Jesus, listening, can hear the songs I cannot sing.
Chorus:
O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine, When the peaceful. happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face, There is sunshine in my soul.
3)There is music in my soul today, For when my Lord is near,
The dove of peace sings in my heart, The flowers of grace appear.
Chorus:
O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine, When the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face, There is sunshine in my soul.
4)There is gladness in my soul today, And hope and praise and love,
For blessings which He gives me now, For joys “laid up” above.
Chorus:
O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine, When the peaceful, happy moments roll;

When Jesus shows His smiling face, There is sunshine in my soul.

Take time to soak up the sunshine.
