Winter’s Warmth

Winter comes with gloomy, cold, rainy, snowy days. A fireplace for centuries was used to provide heat and cook food  to castles, cabins, and homes.  A place to gather for warmth, family time, peace, and security. In the 21st century a fireplace seems to be more for visual enjoyment. It still brings warmth and comfort to a home. Winter seems to be happier to us when a fireplace is glowing. A place to relax with a cup of tea or hot chocolate and cover up with a well used warm blanket. A good place to read a book or watch a movie. We should be so thankful for a warm place to live, warm clothing, warm food, and warm, caring friends. God has given us His warming peace and  grace each day.
Philippians 4:7 (King James) And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

Winter is also a place of happy wonder.

Winter Morning
By: Ogden Nash

Winter is the king of showmen,
Turning tree stumps into snow men,
And houses into birthday cakes,
And spreading sugar over lakes.
Smooth and clean and frosty white,
The world looks good enough to bite.
That’s the season to be young,
Catching snowflakes on your tongue.
Snow is snowy when it’s snowing,
I’m sorry it’s slushy when it’s going.
