Springtime prayer

There are several verses in the Bible that express peace for our daily lives.

Matthew 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God.

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you, my peace I give onto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Paul gives us reflections of peace:

Colossians 3:15 – And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body, and be thankful.

II Thessalonians 3:16 – Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the wonder of Spring.  The rebirth of life each year brings new hope within us.  We may be worried and anxious about our lives, but you give us peace in knowing that you are always with us daily. Once again, we ask for your understanding in the Boston bombings. Help us to pray for the wounded, families of the deceased, and the suspect. We seek your guidance during all situations. Let this prayer end with words of peace.

The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace. (Numbers 6: 24-26) Amen
