As the March winds approach, it brings fond memories of childhood. Running freely with a kite and hoping it did not get caught in a tree was always fun. Many of us can relate to Charlie Brown and how he always lost his kite. There was a feeling of sadness in losing the kite. But, on good flying days, there was a feeling of joy, laughter, freedom, and exuberance in seeing the kite go higher and higher. Part of the excitement was never quite knowing which direction the wind would take the kite. Today, people are flying drones. However, this does not give them the experience of following the kite by running. Kites are a visual and physical experience.
Following God is very much the same. We relate to God through visual experiences of reading His word, seeing magnificent art and the wonders He created. God has given us the physical strength to maintain the beauty of the land, help others in need, and sings His praises. In times of sadness, God is there to lift us up. He provides family and friends to give us strength. Through God’s word, we grow stronger and higher in faith.
The Holy Spirit is our “Wind of God”. May the wind of faith blow upon you gently, yet give you power to go wherever you are needed.
