Colors of Fall, Colors of Hope

Fall is alive on the campus of the University of Alabama.  The trees are flushed with vivid colors of red, orange, and yellow. They burn at the edes and fall gently to the sidewalk. The cool air is crisp to the touch and everywhere you turn, students wear bright scarfs and fuzzy boots. I have always felt that this time of year is when I feel most myself, most alive. Simply walking outside my apartment door, I am filled with a sense of clarity and optimism. October brings colors of fall and the promise of hope for a new season, another chance to share the fruits of the spirit.

For students, it can be a very stressfull time where tests, papers, and projects begin piling up like dominoes. I find myself almost falling into this dreadful trap of overload and mysery. But once I step out into the color, I am reminded again that fall is another season of new beginnings. I encourage everyone to fix a mug of hot tea and stare at the colors before they fade. Bask in the glow. Embrace the cold and infuse the world with the warmth of your heart.
