For the United States of America, Independence Day, July 4th, is a family celebration.There are bar-b-ques, picnics, parades, and fireworks. From small town USA to New York’s Macy’s and Washington D.C.’s spectacular fireworks display, this is a huge celebration of liberty and freedom. Americans can thank 56 dedicated men that worked in Philadelphia’s sweltering heat preparing the most important document in the United States, theDeclaration of Independence, signed on July 4, 1776. Such men as Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Richard Henry Lee, Roger Sherman, and John Adams used their wisdom, determination, insight and courage to draft this document. Thomas Jefferson has been credited with penning most of the document. The words that continue to resound throughout these past 242 years are ; “We hold these truths to be self-evident , that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
God had a plan in 1776 and continues to keep America free. God Bless America
