Autumn Comfort!

Genesis 8:22 (Revised Standard)  While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.  Psalm 104:19 (Revised Standard) Thou hast made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting.

AUTUMN IS HERE! As I write a new season is upon us. The summer has been extremely hot! It is time to look forward to the beauty of Autumn in all it’s brilliant color. Time for warm sweaters, soft blankets, brisk walks in the cool Autumn air, sipping apple cider by a cozy fire, and pumpkin pie.The Lord created each glorious season. Autumn is time to anticipate the upcoming joy of Thanksgiving with family and friends.

The following is a prayer for this amazing season of comfort and love.
Autumn Months
Author unknown

O God of Creation, you have blessed us with the changing of the seasons.

As we welcome the autumn months,
may the earlier setting of the sun
remind us to take time to rest.
May the brilliant colors of the leaves
remind us to wonder of your creation.
May the stream of our breath in the cool air
remind us that it is you who gives us the breath of life.
May the harvest from the fields remind us of the abundance we have been  given and
bounty we are to share with others.
May the dying of summer’s spirit remind us of your great promise that death is temporary and life is eternal.
We praise you for your goodness forever and ever.
Amen.
