A Grateful Heart

This 2020 Thanksgiving will certainly be different. The possibility of sharing a Thanksgiving meal with your family or friends may not happen or be very limited. Since March, America has taken one day at a time; trying to understand the Covid-19 virus, a presidential election, riots, hurricanes, fires, jobs lost, and hunger. At times, it has been difficult to reflect upon the blessings that God provides. However, God’s goodness still prevails. As is written in I Chronicles 16:34 it states; O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever! Therefore, we can be thankful for family, friends, good health, safe homes, nourishment, the beauty of each season, nature, and most of all God’s love.

Thanksgiving Song
from Little Men
by: Louisa May Alcott
“Summer days are over,
Summer work is done;
Harvests have been gathered
Gayly one by one.
Now the feast is eaten,
Finished is the play;
But one rite remains for
Our Thanksgiving day.
Best of all the harvest
In the dear God’s sight,
Are the happy children
In the home to-night;
And we come to offer
Thanks where thanks are due,
With grateful hearts and voices,
Father, mother, unto you.”

May your Thanksgiving be filled with love, peace and blessings.
