Enjoy a New Day

In 2013, I had the opportunity to tour Ireland with the Knoxville Choral Society. During the trip, we sang in churches in Galway, Sligo, Kilkenny, and Dublin. Ireland truly is a beautiful green wonder!. The Cliffs of Moher are amazing. The people are charming. I particularly enjoyed the Irish accent. As we traveled this lovely countryside from coast to city, small quaint stone churches were all along the way.
One of my favorite Gaelic hymns/songs is “Morning Has Broken” written by an English author Eleanor Farjeon.
Genesis 1: 5(NIV) God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning – the first day.
Psalm 57: 8(NIV) Awake my soul! Awake harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.

Morning Has Broken
Morning has broken like the first morning,

Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!

Sweet the rain’s new fall sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dew fall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Praise with elation, Praise every morning,
God’s recreation of the new day.

May this Irish Blessing give you peace.

May the Road Rise to Meet You
May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind blow at your back,
May the sun shine warmly on your face;
May the rain fall softly on your field;
And until we meet again, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His Hand.
Amen.
